Strain Profile: I'm a big bubblegum fan. I started off growing the Serious Seeds version, but I gave the Nirvana version a try earlier this year, and was very pleased with the results.
The Nirvana plants were pretty uniform in most of their growth characteristics. Nirvana seeds may be F2 hybrids, but because bubblegum is a strain that has been partially stabilised by Serious Seeds this doesn't seem to be an issue. I can't comment on their other varieties.
Germination rates of the Nirvana bubblegum seeds was better than Serious Seed's version (bubblegum often germinates poorly - the seeds are reputed to have thick shells).
Nirvana bubblegums look a bit more indica than Serious Bub, the plants I grew were nice-looking, healthy and vigourous. The buds from the two brands were identical in all respects.
To recap, bubblegum is a typically indica/sativa type plant, which flowers in 9 to 10 weeks. When smoked, it can be a bit of a lung-buster (quite hashy, no real bubblegum flavour), but the high is very stimulating and giggly. I find that it makes everything on TV seem interesting and humourous, it has a better mood-elevating effect than any other variety I have smoked.
If you go mad on it, it can be very trippy. The high is more sativa than indica, but after a few hours of smoking it, the CBD content can catch up with you and put you to sleep.
It's an ideal "TV weed", and because I am more likely to be watching TV when smoking a joint than anything else, it has become my favourate variety.
