I just finished up a crop of Blue Moonshine- it went exactly 71 days. This was grown organically outdoors in 5 gallon buckets in South Florida. The last two weeks were plagued by near constant rain, so it may have finished a bit earlier under more optimum conditions.

No mold at all, and believe me- if it were at all sensitive to damp finishing, it would have happened here..... 18 inches of rain in June.

The high? Hmmm... the test buds taken at around week 8 were very much a head high, but not a nice one. It actually made me dizzy. The properly finished (amber trichs), dried and cured bud was very different- a totally lethargic, narcotic body stone. IMO this is good for sleeping but not much else. I was disappointed.

I kept a few clones, and am revegging one of the originals, just in case the monsoons during their last two weeks affected the quality. (I had to put them under lights several times during that period because they were getting no real light outside.) I may (if I have the space) put the clones in the ground this winter to see what a lower humidity/better light flowering period might accomplish.

I did like some of the qualities- it was virtually spider mite resistant. I had bad mite problems on a neighboring strain (Purple Star) but NONE of the Blue Moonshine plants were at all affected. The smell is (IMO) its best quality- a great spicey/piney odor that permeated my yard, hands, and everything it comes in contact with. Just opening the stash box gets you an excellent whiff even now. Frosty, sticky- all the right adjectives apply. They were beautiful buds, too.... unfortunately, aesthetics don't get you high.

Photo was taken around week 8.
