Well, Ive never posted any grow reports before because Im not the literary type and Im just an old timer hunting and pecking at the keyboard.

So I try to make my points with as few words as possible. Being this way has come to haunt me because I end up answering questions by PMs. Im not complaining about it because I enjoy helping out fellow smokers but Ive come to realize that I needed to put as much info as I know into one post and hopefully clear up any unanswered questions.

From info I shifted from the Net, HDF is one of four Emerald Triangle strains. Heavy Duty Fruity, Mendocino Madness, Stinky Pinky, and Killin Garberville are from Mendocino, Humboldt or Trinity County in the famed Emerald Triangle. Adam at THSeeds got the four strains from a DEA man who got the original parent seeds from CAMP raids in the three counties. Sounds like the folks in the Emerald Triangle may be pot snobs because they dont release their strains to the public. So Adam was lucky to get these strains. Adam has also licensed BC Seeds to sell these strains. HDF is 50% Sativa 50% Indica. The most likely parents I could find out is BC Big Bud x Sensis Fruity Juice Thai F-4 IBL.

I bought HDF about a year ago from Gypsy. I had 100% germination and ended up with 7 females out of 10 seeds. 5 females looked 50/50 and finished in 8 weeks and 2 looked like 70% Sativa or more and finished in 12 weeks. The yields ranged from 3 to 5 ounces. I kept 2 of the heaviest yielding 8-week mothers and posted photos of a bud from each of the lines to show the slight differences.

I have grown HDF 9 plants per sq. ft and averaged 4 ounces. However I cut back to 4 per sq. ft because I found 9 too much work. Seemed like all I was doing was cloning and transplanting. LOL At 4 per sq. ft. I average 3 ounces. I use 75 watts HPS per sq. ft. I veg clones until they are 8" and then flower them and they end up about 20" at harvest. I use 6" square pots, Pro-Mix, Ionic nutes and drip irrigation. HDF has a sweet fruity smell and taste and a potent cerebral high bordering on psychedelic. HDF is my "Holy Grail" because I grow for yield. So my quest has been to find the most potent, highest yielding, SOG strain with a Sativa high and finish in 8 weeks. Believe me this wasnt an easy quest because most of the high yielding SOG strains are mostly Indica and have a lethargic high. The only time I like to smoke Indicas in late evenings. Another thing I love about HDF, she is a joy to trim. I hate strains that require tons of trimming. Ive grown most of the well known high yielders like Chronic, Ice, Big Bud, Big Skunk, M-39, Shark Shock and so on but HDF wins hands down as the best. Commercial growers would be wise to grow HDF to give customers a better high and still get top yields.

The growers in Humboldt did an outstanding job creating HDF. I hope it gives other breeders some incentive to take the time to do a better job of stabilizing their strains?? Just a thought, I tip my hat to THSeeds and the growers in Humboldt for their contribution here. There were 3 people that had germination problems and Gypsy got a fresh batch of seeds and said he would replace their seeds. So all is well now.
