I have heared that the original california orange was a clone of an unstabilised hybrid, and that some of the seedlines which have been produced from it can lack orange flavour.
I have only grown the Homegrown fantaseeds version, and I must say that it had a lovely orange smell when cured, and a hashy orange taste when smoked. It had good potency, and a great "up" sativa high. I am growing a few more to pick out a good mother for cloning.
One unusual trait of the HG Fantaseeds Cali-O is that every seedling I have grown has split into a "Y"-shaped plant at the second or third internode. The plants grow up very branched and sort of crippled-looking, but otherwise healthy.
