Strain Profile: 10 seeds were planted, 1 died, 8 were female. Seedlings had large leaves and very very vigorous. Plants stretched a fair bit but responded well to topping.
I grew the plants in very small (7" pots). The aim being to get them germed, vegged and to budding ASAP, select the Mother and grow from clones. I pruned to get 2-4 colas per plant.
There appear to be a range of phenos. Most don't look like you'd expect in a plant that is "nearly 100% sativa". Leaves range from medium-wide indica size to the long, thin sativa. The earliest plants to bud well were the one's with the wider leaves and shorter height - leading to the conclusion that there is probably some indica influencing the plant but it's not apparant in the high.
The plant I smoke-tested was one of these. The cola is heavy and thick. The calyxes are notably large and swollen. They are sticky and somewhat crystally. The buds were bigger than many indicas I've grown. The smell is lemon/pine and quite strong. The taste in this case was pretty green as they were speed dried on top of my fluoro shelf in about 12 hours. Maybe some loss in potency but it sure didn't feel like it.
The high is something else. My last grow was Somango which I considered was strong & relaxing but this stocky Western Winds pheno kicks it into touch potency-wise. I'd have to put this at 9/10 on the basis that I've not had any stronger, yet. A bowl came on over about 10 minutes. Very strong head rush and the sensation of blood to the head. Quite euphoric. Then the heavier element kicks in causing your eyes to stare. I noticed a slight trippy grid pattern in my vision. My heart raced like crazy for about 10 minutes and then calmed right down. It was a real roller-coaster of a ride and I was grinning at the end of it.
For me, this plant is the ideal indoor sativa. Super-strong, fantastic trippy UP high, bid buds and decent yield.
