Strain Profile: Personally I found Somas Diesel to be average, to slow growing at one stage early into flowering I felt I had wasted my time with this strain but they did actually get it together.
There was a little stretch into flowering and nodes/branching was reasonably far spread not giving me a positive out look but later end flowers did explode into shape but far spread. Plenty of light was given and even now I have clones growing outdoors with the same appearance.
Heavily seeded flowers of course took on a different appearance due to sucking the life out the plant to reproduce. (People who have heavily seeded already know this) I found two very positive phenos with chance of a third.
One pheno showing a very strong Mexican sativa back ground the buds growing very long light and airy, while the other pheno being more compact it much shorter, thicker, producing more trichs then pistils. The partly third pheno was stocky Indica dom looking to be more Indica Dom then sat but held a different smell then the other two more a lemon /xmas pine smell. They all seemed to look a very lush green bushy affect but when leaves and matter are removed very little flower were actually amongst the plant.
I found trichomes build up to be very average for this sativa and any run of the mill sativa flooding my area would easily equal or out class it..
I did not come across any outstanding smell that people talk about, petrol, chemical, diesel gasoline but if you tell yourself enough Im sure you can make yourself believe.
Smell was an average sweet sour and nothing to write home about defiantly not over powering as I have heard people mention.
Yield was very low for the time waited and even when finished buds were never solid. They looked to be partly full but when drying I was hugely disappointed on weights ..
On a good note I found that Somas Diesel would be good for a novice indoor grower looking to get some experience with sats.
Taste, guinea pigs stated Somas Diesel as smooth mild spicy with an immediate high and lasting.
Over the years I have grown thousands Sativas/doms due to my area being suitable for them . And found Somas N.Y.C Diesel to be nothing to write home about.
The real N.Y.C Diesel still must be out there as the reports I have read certainly couln't be talking about Somas NYC Diesel.
