Hey Now,
I have always grow organic in soil. I have changed very little in the years of growing and have usually had good to great results...
I start with (12) peat pots, the kind that swell when you add water to them. I grow on a small scale, for just my wife and my-self. We are moderate smokers and I can truely say I get more out of growing fine quality pot than I do smoking it.
Anyway I always start from seed, and I grow NL, Mauwi, Skunk#1 or WW. I change up each grow, cure and store my buds so I always have a variety. I start from seed because I'm not in a hurry and the plants tend to be hardier. I water them sparingly with a mister, just plain warter no nutes for a week to 10 days.
Then a transplant them in a 50/50 mix of perlite and jungle growth soil mix. I mix this 12 quarts at a time adding 1/2 cup domolite lime,1 cup each blood meal and bone meal. I water sparingly with Green Sense fish and kelp fertilizer(3-2-2) mixxed at 1/4 strength for 3 weeks topping plants at the 4th node. On week 3 I start feeding with Metanatural organic bloom mixxed at 1/2 strength. I also prepare soil, perlite and jungle growth 10/90. This is also mixxed 12 quarts at a time and mixxed the same less the blood meal, 2 cups bone meal 1/2 lime. I wet the soil with water and alittle Dr. Bonner's Hemp soap. This needs to sit for a week.
At the 4th week a transplant to gal. pots and put the plant in a 12/12 light cycle, making sure to let the soil almost dry completly before watering, with plain water. This cuts back on the strenching and N intake. The plant go into bloom quickly and it sets the pace for really nice big buds on small plants.
When the plants start showing sex, in about 10 days; I pull the males and use them for cooking. I then feed them with the Metanatural bloom ferts at full strength and repot them again in the 10/90 soil mix. At this point here they will need no more feeding, the soil will provide all that is needed till harvest.
Its very important not to harvest by your watch or your wallet. Watch your girls' "hair" swell with THC ontill they begin to peek. Always harvest at the end of the night cycle. With the WW I will leave them in the dark for a few days longer.
